Women Empowerment

It is said that with the Globalisation, the status of women has increased in our society and people have started realising the importance of women. I too agreed with this statement. But by reading the incidents going around the world in the news make me think that still some sections of the society lack this understanding.
Taking the example of today’s newspaper article of Hindustan Times of harrasment on the women in the case of Dowry. A 23 year women who have given birth to a girl child faced dowry tourture by her husband and in-laws and when she refused to fulfilling their demands, one of her eyes was badly injured after she was attacked by a sharp edged weapon during the beating.
Women told the police that its not the first time that this kind of harrasment was done to her, earlier also such attempts of hanging her and burning her took place in their house, but then she saved herself somehow. Bt this time her husband didn’t spared her.
I would like to ask the people what's the fault of that lady, is it her fault that shez a lady? Or giving the birth to a girl child is her fault?? Donno how can people be so heartless and committing such kind of sins.
I still am waiting for that time to come when the laws for the Women Empowerment will be strictly implemented so that any men or in-laws think 100 times before harrasing ladies.

Independence Day Celebration

If i was the Prime Minister of the country, i would like the people of my country to know the history of their country, that how they achieved independence. I would like each citizen of my country to enjoy this day as a mark of celebrating their independent life.

I would like each and every citizen of my country to know about the significance of this day. And let their children know about the struggle done by our soldiers to free our country from the slaves. For educating this knowledge to the children, society should try to form specialized groups which could give the knowledge to the children in some interesting way, and arise the feeling of Nationalism in them.
Everyone should know that why do they fly kites on Independence Day. As flying kites rising up in the sky signifies our happiness indicating that we are free and independently enjoying our lives without any domination.
We should let the uneducated and the poor class realise the importance of this day, and guide them about their rights and duties towards their country. By telling them their Rights, we will let them know that they have the equal place in our society as that of all the citizens of India and they have the right to enjoy their lives without any domination of ellite class.

By giving the knowledge to the citizens of India about this day, we will be able to arise the feeling of Nationalism in some people and there would be decrease in the rate of Public Jokes, on the freedom fighters who have done a lot to let our country free from the British Rule. And don’t let the Indian Flag to come under anyone’s foot or don’t let it be dumped into the dustbins. As our Indian Flag rising up in the sky is the symbol of our independence too.

Health

Swine Flu is one of the major health problem disease that is being faced by people in many parts of our country like Orrissa, Bhubaneshwar etc.

Swine Flu is a kind of respiratory disease which is common in pigs. The H1NI virus is however not a strain which has been seen in the swine. The H1NI virus is a combination of different viruses. It’s a mixture of the swine flu, the bird flue and the kind of flue common during the winter months and the fall, seen among the people in Northern America. As it is a combination of different flu viruses, the H1N1 flu is much harder to treat.
Typical flu viruses include the potential to kill more than 3,50,000 victims. Season after season this disease seems to appear, sometimes showing mild symptoms and sometimes severe. This disease appears to infect more of pregnant women and young adults.

Eight new cases of swine flu were detected in several areas of Orrissa. People suffering were sent to hospitals. According to the health department officials, out of the total 17 samples tested, 8 were tested positive to H1NI virus. Eight people have already reached to the killer stage of the death of this disease.

Prevention is always better than cure , so its better that we prevent ourselves from this dangerous disease. Especially when it comes to the prevention of swine flu, there are many aspects to be considered:
  • Firstly, keeping one self away from other person while traveling by maintaining a good distance while sitting or standing keeps away the bacteria.
  • Secondly while sneezing or coughing, one must protect self by keeping a towel or a napkin against nose to prevent the inhale and spread of germs.
  •  By taking much care, you can always prevent swine flu.
  • Another important aspect is, try to keep yourself away from sick people because viruses are more active.
  • Pay lot of attention to your diet. What you are eating and what are the hygiene levels in which you are having your food. Almost every aspect of food should be given lot of attention and good care should be administered.
One of the common symptoms of swine disease is high fever. A victim will suffer from very high body temperature due to fever. Another symptom of swine flu is coughing.

The H1N1 flu virus causes many other cases of the upper respiratory problems. Aching, sore muscles and fatigue are some of the other symptoms of this illness. Some of the victims of swine flu may have stomach upset and associated problems like vomiting, diarrhea and nausea.

So, as soon as our body receives this kind of symptoms, do consult doctor. And try to prevent yourself from such kind of disease by following some of the points mentioned above and by taking the advice of the doctor.

Agriculture Extension

India is primarily an agricultural country. Nearly 65 percent of the population earns its livelihood directly from agriculture. Agriculture provides food, raw materials for our agrobased industries and products for export. India has 51 percent of land under cultivation.
As whole of our country's food regulation sysytem as well as exports are dependent on our country's agriculture sector, agriculture extension is being introduced in the farmers. It is a kind of application of scientific research and new agricultural practices through farmer education. It organises the activity programmes for rural people which are conducted by professionals about the new techniques that should be adopted by the farmers to increase their production and soil fertility, it guides them about the new machinery that would make their work more easy, the use of fertilisers to protect their crops from pests.

There are many agriculture extension practices that are being intoduced for the welfare of farmers. Few days back, a YSR's IT application programme has been introduced by six software engineers who invested their own money to take agriculture research to farmers through information and communication technology in Andhra Pradesh.

Under this project each farmer was given advice on the latest agriculture technology according to the size of their land, soil quality of the seeds, suitable crops to be sown and the quality of the seeds to be sown. During the first phase of the project, farmers not only incresed their earnings but due to the good quality of the crops also received orders from Singapore and several retail orders from other harvests.

Agriculture Extension has helped farmers improving the quality of crops and also have helped in the increase of farmers knowledge, which would result in good production of food all over the country whereas it will improve our export rate also.
